Very Good Condition.

These unusual rifles represent a missing link in SMLE development.  They were never issued into the British Army.  They were trialled and it was decided not to issue them.  They were the forerunner of the Lee Enfield No4 Mk1. Generally, the Mk V was issued to colonial forces.

The primary distinguishing feature of the No. 1 Mk V is the rear aperture sight.

The Mk V had a magazine cut-off, and an additional front barrel band

Other features include a safety lever on the left side of the receiver which was slightly modified with a unique angular groove pattern, and the two-piece hand guard being extended from the nose cap to the receiver.

Mk V rifles were manufactured solely by R.S.A.F. Enfield from 1922–1924, with a total production of 20,000 rifles, all of which marked with a “V” on the wrist band.

There were two production runs of 10,000.  The initial batch was numbered 1-9999 and second A1-9999.

The rifle has matching serial numbers on the receiver, bolt handle, nose cap end and underside of the fore end stock.

This rifle was rebuilt and restored with a new barrel by EFD Enfield Specialists.

This rifle very good example of this rare rifle.  A must for the Enfield enthusiast or collector.
