London Small Arms Co. Ltd Dated 1911

Extremely rare London Small Arms Co. Ltd SMLE MK III 22LR rifle with an excellent Parker Hale lined barrel.
London Small Arms Ltd was a low volume SMLE producer. Making only 430,000 rifles. Enfield and BSA were each producing 400,000 SMLE’s a year. This is rare together with it being pre-WW1 made in 1911.
This is a very well presented SMLE single shot trainer with both the wood and metalwork in particularly good condition.
This rifle has a good history with provenance. Sometime after it was converted from .303 to a .22LR it was acquired by the Repton School Officer Training Corps. This rifle was used in the 1937 Country Life Competition Class A, which was won by the schools OTC 1st Team. As noted on the brass plaque on the rifle butt.
The rifle has matching numbers on the receiver, bolt handle, and nose cap.
The rifle magazine, with the follower removed, still has the cut off and volley sights. The rear sight has windage adjustment.
This is an exceedingly rare well-presented SMLE trainer with a mint barrel, which still shoots very accurately.
SMLE trainers are becoming increasingly rare and do not often come into the market. It would be perfect for competition and collectors of military trainers.
