This is a little used Remington 700 Rifle, which has been professionally converted to a composed M40. This rifle has a heavy barrel reduced to the correct length 24ins, which has a low round count and very accurate.
The conversion work and other accessories include Blue Printed Action, Boyd’s Walnut M40 style Stock with Aluminium Pillars & Pachmeyer Butt Pad and a Hi Lux Redfield 3-9X40 clone M40 Sniper Scope with the Tombstone Reticle.
The M40 was the sniper rifle used extensively by the US Marines during the Vietnam war. It was used to great effect by the legendary sniper Chuck Mawhinney.
The original Remington 700 stock is included with the rifle.
The whole package makes both a very accurate target and competition rifle, which has been well looked after and little used over the course of ownership. This one owner rifle is being reluctantly sold as the owner is no longer target shooting.
This is a very nice, composed rifle. A must for anyone looking for a professionally built composed M40 to add to their sniper collection.
