A Fazakerley made rifle. It is in excellent condition and has been well maintained. It is fitted with the original Singer Micrometer Rear Sight.
The forend stock has a few marks commensurate with age, otherwise the woodwork is clean. The bright shooting grade bore is in mint condition gauging at 0.3025.
Regulated by Fulton is stamped on the top of the receiver.
Enfield No 4 Mk2 rifles were only produced at Fazakerly between 1949 and 1955.
There were approximately 450,000 No4 Mk2s manufactured at Fazakerley. The main deference between the Mk1and the Mk2 is the trigger is mounted on the action body. Whereas the trigger on the Mk1was mounted on the trigger guard. This was to overcome problems with trigger pull. The Mk2 has a screw through the rear of the fore-end where as the Mk1 has a tie plate. The woodwork on the Mk 2 was beech.
This rifle is a must for the Enfield or military rifle collector.
