There were two action styles, one is very similar to the No5 & the second based on a standard No4 Action. Both were purpose built as the No8.
The rear sight is correct and has the Harmonised “H” setting when used with Landscape Targets. The rifle has matching serial numbers on the Bolt, Receiver, Butt Wrist & Fore-end
A Genuine No8 Trainer. This rifle has been serviced and rebuilt at the Enfield Factory in 1970, which is denoted by the D70 stamp on the receiver.
Lee Enfield No 8 rifles are not coming up for sale very often. This is a fine example for any collector of military trainers.
This is a Fazakerley made example at the Royal Ordnance Factory in Lancashire.
