A genuine British No5 Jungle Carbine dated September 1946, in calibre .303, Serial number X4314
All parts are correct and matching serial numbers throughout, including the fore end stock, receiver, bolt, magazine and barrel, which has the correct scalloped lightening cuts.
The wood work is in nice condition with what looks to be a minor repair on the fore end. The metal work retains its original factory finish.
This rifle was imported from Germany, which at a time in the past did not allow military rifles to retain bayonet lugs. You will see in the pictures the bayonet lug on this rifle has been removed. Consequently, a bayonet cannot be fixed to this rifle.
This is an excellent looking Jungle Carbine, with a very nice shooting grade barrel with strong rifling.
